Conquest3D

WELCOME

This site is dedicated to my currently ongoing project: "Conquest3D". Conquest begun as a dissertation project for my M.Sc. and is now a vessel for my journey through game development. It is an electronic version of Denys Fisher's "Conquest - The Strategy Game Of Dice" which is an old strategy board game.

Please have a look around, download the game and give it a try. Since the project is still undergoing development, any bug reports will be highly appreciated. Conquest3D is a 3D game built from scratch using Visual C++ (Win32 API), OpenGL and GLSL. No third-party libraries, middleware etc. were used whatsoever. Some of its key features are:

  • Phong-Blinn illumination model with Phong shading in GLSL
  • Shadow mapping with Percentage Closer Filtering in GLSL
  • Normal mapping in GLSL
  • Stencil reflections
  • Network play and chatting
  • 3ds file loader
  • TGA, BMP file loader
